ENG 075 Course Description: Funadamentals of Composition
This course in composition reinforces students' abilities to focus and develop
organized, relevant support for a topic and to maintain standard usage and mechanics.
Learning activities emphasize writing as a process with the following
components:
Pre-writing
Organizing
Composing
Revising or Proofreading
Editing
Publishing
These portions of the writing process will be used in writing original
paragraphs and longer papers, primarily essays. The types of essays
that will be covered during this course include:
Narrative Essay
Descriptive Essay
Illustrative/Example Essay
Comparison and/or Contrast Essay
Cause and/or Effect Essay
Process Analysis Essay
Persuasion and/or Argumentation Essay
Credits from this course do not apply toward graduation. This is
a four credit course.
